Inspiring graduates celebrate achievements
Students have been encouraged to be bold in their next steps in life at GOTAFE’s graduations.

Some 141 students from 42 different courses celebrated their achievements across two ceremonies on Tuesday, 25 March at Riverlinks Eastbank in Shepparton.
Nursing, pathology, cyber security, education support and mental health were the top five courses represented, with qualifications ranging from Certificate I to Diploma level.
For many students, the ceremony represented more than just the end of their studies – it was the beginning of their next chapter.
Among the graduates was IT and Cyber Security student Jakk Devlin.
Jakk was part of a panel discussion at both ceremonies, where he, alongside two students and a teacher encouraged graduates to embrace opportunities and be bold now they have completed their studies.
“For all graduating students, I would really encourage them to take the opportunities that come your way,” he said.
“You have the skills and experience to go out and make a difference in our community.”
To anyone who is considering enrolling in vocational education, Jakk said “put yourself outside your comfort zone and you will see great things.”
Jakk’s message was supported by Nursing Teacher Caragh Butler, who also addressed graduating students.
“My message is to be bold,” she said.
“All graduating students should be so proud of their efforts so far.
“All the hard yards you have put in, all the effort and sacrifices, it has paid off.”
GOTAFE’s graduates have a bright future, with 2024 student satisfaction data showing almost 2 in 3 (63.6%) of students had an improved employment status after training, above the network average of 54.8%.
The data also shows 79.7% of students achieved their main reason for study.
Applications are currently open for a range of courses at GOTAFE.
